Step 5 of our latest mystery

Here we are with the next step of Bonnie's latest mystery, although I've still not been able to spend much time in my sewing room, I've made some progress on the latest block,

I have the next 3 days off from my work, so I'm hoping to make lots of progress on every step.

As I write this post it is -12 degrees out, and looking like we'll have this cold spell around for a while, nothing better to do than work on a quilt!

If you would like to see what everyone has been working on - progress so far is posted here Celtic Solstice info .

Celtic Solstice Clue 4

Great weekend to work on some of the Celtic Solstice blocks for my Bonnie Hunter Mystery and since my granddaughter was here for the weekend we made up a batch of Bonnie's Drop Sugar Cookies -

I always have to sample the dough, ( which was great ) and my Lillian tried the finished product 1 after another!

These are my 4 patch blocks - at least the beginning of them, many more to go, but I'm not counting yet!

Check out the progress of other folks here:

Celtic Soltice Progress - Clues 1,2,3

I'm finally ready to post my progress on Celtic Soltice! Since I got a late start on this mystery quilt, I've done as Bonnie's suggested in each of the other mysteries - make some of each clue, I haven't
worried about completing a clue before starting the next.

Part 1
 Part 2

Part 3

I am working on the small quilt, so with a little luck, I'll be able to complete all the blocks for step 4 and then work my way through the rest using the half sq. triangles as leaders and enders as some others have done. I love Bonnie's Mystery Quilts, this is my 3rd -

Merry Christmas from 1990 somthing....

Getting my sewing room ready to start Bonnie Hunters latest Mystery Quilt I became side tracked looking through old photo albums, I noticed many of my photographs had started to loose or change colors so I started scanning many before there was no rescuing them, when I came upon these pics of my youngest son in his "Santa" get up, I had to share, he's now over 6' tall, no sitting on moms lap anymore!
More photos to scan, but I have to get working on CELTIC SOLSTICE!

The End of the Road for Easy Street

Art by Lillian Elesieve Nesler

ALMOST the end of the road!  I'm still working my way through the final blocks, and day by day I'm completing more. Normal little life things get in the way, but I have to get some machine time in each day, or I just feel like something is missing.
All Border and corner blocks are done, all the "components" cut and pieced, and I'm working on the center blocks as I go, working from one corner on through the rest of the quilt.
Bonnie's colors are great, and I'm seeing some of the folks that have gone with their own choice of colors is AMAZING!
Now I'm even looking forward to next years mystery and thinking I may change up the colors  on that one. Bonnie always says to go ahead and do that......

This is where I'm at with my layout.

Right now I have another 3 blocks in the works, and hope to have the top completed in a couple of weeks. I don't have the borders planned out yet, but  hope some inspiration will come. Many times I've had the inspiration come in the middle of the night - must be where someone long ago came up with the phrase "sleep on it".  I think I'll go and try it now!
